Objective

Prerequisites
For this example we are using the Test Dashboard.
Download dashboard.zip file from link given dashboard.zip.
After downloading the zip file, open Preview-Edit_Dashboard folder inside it & upload Test Dashboard dash file into the Dashboard & Sales.cds into Master data --> Dataset Section of the AIV. To add it into AIV follow this Link.
Steps to Share the Dashboard
Follow this link & reach out to the Grid View of the Dashboard.
Click on any dashboard, which you want to share with another user. For this example; we will select Test Dashboard.
Right click on Test Dashboard & click on share option as shown below:
One dialog box will open as shown below:
- When you are sharing the dashboard first time, there are no users displayed in the selected user section. to share with a specific user, select that user from the user list on the left-hand section and change visibility to internal or public.
Select the user with whom you want to share the dashboard & select visibility type for it, as required.
For this example; we will share the dashboard to Demo & NewDemo user & keep the visibility type internal.
You can see on the top right corner, there is a description added in the blue font which mentions 'To Edit - Click Checkbox'.
We will check the checkbox right next to Demo user, it means Demo user can edit the dashboard & NewDemo user can only preview the dashboard.
To provide edit access, just mark this checkbox right next to the user's name.
Click on the Share button & your dashboard is shared with selected users & given rights to them.
When Demo users will log in with their credentials & search for the Test Dashboard file, they can see the edit option available there.
- Any changes made by this shared user will be reflected in the admin user's login. The shared user can not use his Dataset to create or change widgets. he just can manipulate the dashboard with the dataset used by the Owner user.
